How to reduce your electricity bills?

Electricity bills probably give you a lot of worry. Electricity is quite expensive especially with all that oil prices going up and up. So what can you do to reduce those bills but in the same time maintain enough electricity for your household needs?
Of course, part of the solution might be saving electricity, so let me give you some advice: use CFL light bulbs, keep the monitor and the computer switched off when you are not using them, set the air conditioner at reasonable temperatures , minimize the number of washes by washing full load of clothes every time, take off the power plug of your television set when not using it, keep the geyser thermostat at the minimum heat, bring hot food to room temperatures before putting it into the refrigerator and regarding an air-conditioner equipped car, pull up the windows of your car before switching on the air-conditioner.

That is a good start and I encourage you to do that. But what if there is some other solutions, simple and with the delight to know that you are doing your bit to save power for the future generations and good feeling that you are conscious about environment.

It is not energy from fossil sources but alternative energy sources that are become the solution of cutting down present and the future energy consumption. The green energy is what all is about; renewable energy from natural resources like wind, sun, tides. It is energy that surrounds you, the energy that is lying next to you and all you have to do is to grab it somehow- with cheap and efficient devices which you can construct totally by yourself without much effort. That might be home made solar panels for cooking, lighting and heating, bio-fuels which are renewable sources of energy unlike fossil fuels, homemade windmill that converts wind energy into other types of energy.
Using naturally available resources provides freedom: How would you feel when you don’t have to pay for the power you use? Wouldn’t it be delightful to use as much power as you want without worrying about the electricity meter? You can make use of the abundant power available in the nature to light up your home and make your food.
Isn’t that awesome? Try it and you will see- it is definitely working. Start saving on your energy bills and stop polluting the nature.
